High Five for Friday (11.9.2012)

Helllooooo Friday! Its been quite a busy week, but this weekend promises loads of fun and I am really looking forward to it!

1. Family time... I love these peeps and was so glad to spend the weekend with them!

2. Tuesday I got to spend with my favorite girls (Amber, Jacqueline, & Diana). We all met at the Masseys, ate dinner and "helped" put away the girls' clothes and organize.. really I think it was just an excuse for us to girl talk and laugh, a lot.

3. J&I actually got to go to lunch together this week. For those who dont know, this is how J&I started "dating-ish".. the good old lunch date. So confusing. HA! But the good news is, we finally dropped the "ish" once he took me out for a dinner and here we are 3 years later happily married, (now, in unison - AWWWWWWW)

4. My friend Kelley got tickys to the Mavs game from work - her perks are unreal. So I convinced J a night out mid-week was a good thing and we enjoyed the Coors Light suite for the evening!

5. Its here! Jenna & Philip's wedding!! So excited for these two and cannot wait to be part of their special day!

We will definitely be pulling out our dancing shoes this weekend - I hope yours is equally great!

 

Surprise!

This past weekend was my brother's birthday, and his sweet girlfriend, Chara, planned for my parents, J&I to surprise him by coming down to Houston.

 

Now, Zaky is the guy who wants to guess his gift before opening it. Like shake it, listen to it, feel it... this can go on for 10 minutes, when if he just opened it, he would have had instant gratification... so imagine what poor Chara has been going through over the last few weeks while he thoughts something fishy was going on. Even last Thursday he called me and I nearly cracked!

 

On our drive in the clouds were incredible... J&I just kept commenting on how surreal it all looked. It was a good reminder of the simple things...

 

 

 

We were successful on our surprise though - I wish there was a picture of how I surprised him.. it was a full on leap attack over the couch - it was perfection.

 

Chara did such a fantastic job - Saturday night we went out to dinner, but before we went out she set up a wine and whiskey tasting, with cheeses and other appetizers. I LOVE her serving dishes and the idea was perfect!

Then we went out to dinner to Benjys.. holy delish! Seriously, so.good. Houston has the best foodie places! If you are there, you should go. Seriously.

 

 

 

Sunday we did a whole lot of lounging and watching football - Zak's kinda day for sure. That night we went to the House of Blues for a Marc Broussard concert. This was the first time any of them had seen Marc or really heard much of his music - and per usual he did not disappoint... we now have 4 more Marc fans in the fam!

 

 

Overall, we had a great time just hanging out with everyone! So glad that Chara put it all together!

High Five for Friday (11.2.12)

How is it November?????? Seriously people, this year has flown by!

1. I took some time off of work this week (Monday and Tuesday) to spend with my bedrest ridden bestie while her hubs was out hunting for a few days. Lots of girl talk, Dinsey movie watching and hanging out, which would have been a high on its own; however I also was able to take Amber to the doctor and see those babes first hand in a sonogram. LOVE! Cant wait to meet these girls!

 

2. I have had a giftcard to DSW from my MIL since last Christmas... if you know me, you know that this is unheard of... usually giftcards are burning holes in my pockets! But I am so glad that I held out.. I got a CUTE pair of boots this week (& I had a coupon, so I still have money left on the giftcard! I think some pumps are calling my name!)

 

 

3. I got a lot of cuddling from this bug this week... not sure whats gotten into her!

 

 

4. Halloween was this week... We did things a little different this year with a Mexican dinner and some margaritas... I wasnt complaining.

 

 

Although I will say it was a far cry from our first Halloween together where all the kiddos were taking pictures in the yard on our red carpet!

 

 

I have officially decided that 2013 we will not be Halloween scrooges and maybe we will even throw a parrr-taayyyy.... (i have a year to work on the hubs!)

 

5. I get to spend some time with this girl...

 

 

&& have a few other fun things up my sleeve!

Weekend Wrap Up {so late}

Fellow bloggers out there, do you blog from the Blogger app? I would love to be able to do a quick post like today from the iPad, but I dont know how to post date it or get the format right... HELP!?

 

I guess thats my excuse for my tardiness, Monday I was out in Argyle at the Masseys and one of the first things I asked Amber was if she blogged from  the Blogger app and she replied with no... with the same reasons that I seriously dont know how... annoying.

 

HOWEVER! We will move on & I will give you a little speek at my Saturday... since both Friday and Sunday were L.A.Z.Y....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Saturday morning we went to brunch with both sets of parents to Max's Wine Dive... Can we talk about this place? It  never disappoints... we have been to multiple dinners, but this was our first brunch... creme brulee french toast? To.Die.For.

 

Afterwards we were off to the Deep Ellum Brewery.. like all breweries we have gone to.. this did not disappoint! Loved the band, and atmosphere.. just know next time we will bring chairs!

 

 

That night was Jenna B's lingerie shower.. love seeing my girls...

 

 

Less than 2 weeks til the big day! EEK!

 

Like I said, Sunday was full of this...
