Sunday we had Spring Minis in the morning for G. He was so serious in all the pictures and didn't crack a smile... not once. So when we got home, we enjoyed outside and I tried my darndest to get him cheesin' in his Oh So Spring outfit, but no dice.
All I got was this:
Even with bribery
The best I got was this....
I'm going to blame it on the teeth that are making their way through up top.. better luck next time, Mama!

Lets Eat: 8 Months
I posted about our 7 month schedule a few weeks ago, and here we are changing things up again. Does the anxiety ever stop?!
As of Monday G moved from the "baby" side of the infant room to the "older" side of the infant room. Cue the tears. With the move, it will alter his schedule. They say they will ease him into this change, but I have been trying to start the change over the past week by sending snacks for him and doing much more on the finger foods front. Although, theres more in his chair than his mouth most of the time!
Weekday Schedule:
6:30 /7:15am: Wake/Nurse/Get ready for School
8:30/9:00am: Snack (puffs, yogurt drops, teething crackers, etc.)
9:30/10:00am: Milk - Starting with his usual 6 ounces, but plan to decrease?
11/11:30am: Lunch (Veggie burger, diced steamed veggies, peas, chicken quinoa meatballs, etc.) & its been suggested to accompany with milk - 4 ounces?
2:30/3:00pm: Afternoon Snack (same as morning, maybe add diced fruit?) & its been suggested to accompany with milk - 4 ounces?
6/6:30pm: Dinner (Meat, oatmeal, fruit, veg, etc) & Water
7/7:15 pm: Nurse
Bed
Here are my concerns/questions:
- suggestions on snacks besides things like puffs? Seems like empty snacking, although, he doesn't need calories
- how do you decrease the breastmilk amounts? Is going down to 4 ounces per bottle during the day going to shock him?
- everything I read says to still give 24 ounces minimum and 30 ounces max. If I go down to (3) 4 ounce bottles during the day, will his nursing in the morning/evening last longer than it does now to be sure he's getting the 24 ounces? Or I guess you don't have to worry about it?
- suggestions on recipes for lunches/dinners? I have started scouring Pinterest and other "Baby Led Weaning" sites, even though I am not sure that's what I would call what I am doing - ha!
As always, I welcome and love feedback and help!

Grayson Daniel: 8 Months
2/3 of a year down. Yowzas! In this past month this baby of mine has started to turn the corner of becoming more of a boy than baby. So sad, and so fun, all at the same time.
eat: we are still nursing, although we had a rough few days of biting. I went to my momma's group on facebook for help. It stopped. Thank the Lord, otherwise I was ready to turn in the towel. He has started snacking in the morning at school (puffs, teething crackers, yogurt drops, etc.) and has still been doing fruit/veggie/oatmeal at school for lunch. Although, this week his schedule is changing. More on that this week. In the evenings we are doing more finger foods - veggie burgers, peas, chicken quinoa meatballs, cubed veggies, coupled with yogurt and some purees. He has finally started drinking water out of sippy cups.
sleep: at the turn of 7 months, the clouds parted and the sun shined down. We are sleeping through the night, every night. Hallelujah! Although, I still seem to wake once or twice to look at the monitor. I don't think that will ever stop, so right now, I feel like I am sleeping like a champ.
He's down no later than 7:30 pm every night and up any time between 6 - 7:30 am. It truly just depends, although the trend seems to be earlier on the weekends. Ugh.
play: so much fun. Grayson smiles 95% of the time. Sweet boy. We officially packed up the swing this month, and I think the excersaucer isn't far behind. He loves to sit and play with his shapes, donuts, and farm animals. Singing and reading books are at the top of his list. Clapping & Peek-a-boo are guaranteed smiles. Rarely rolling over still, scooches here and there, but he is moving to the "older" side of the infant room this week and they assure me he will be on the move within a few weeks.
miscellaneous:
Time is flying - guess its time to start thinking about his birthday party.... OMG - how?!
estimated measurements:
weight: 22.5 pounds
height: a little over 28 inches ish

miscellaneous:
- Giving sugars to Mama and Daddy all the time
- Waives "Bye Bye"
- Claps his hands
- Popped his 3rd tooth over the weekend
- His hair is coming in - still so light (kinda strawberry-ish?)
- Shakes his head "No" (hit or miss)
- Working on High Fiving and Blowing Sugars
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is his jam - clapping/smiles/squeals
- Waives his hands to be picked up
- Still loves bath time and school
- Does not like to be told "No" - tears, lots of them.
- Has started playing shy or flirting - he will smile and dig his face into me while interacting with others
- Has started to cry every now and then when I leave a room - hoping this doesn't become a habit!
- Snuggling with Mama is cool again. It had been a while & I love it
- Was really sick for the first time - he had high fever fir 3 days this month. It was awful but the extra snuggles were the sweetest
- Says "Dada" but I think he means Mama - ha!
- Every now and then will repeat "Hi"
Time is flying - guess its time to start thinking about his birthday party.... OMG - how?!

Cousin Play Date
With life/work being busy, it feels like we never have time to do anything on the weekends, yet are so busy. I am sure that doesn't really make sense, but in my little world it does. So when Jojo asked to do something this past weekend, I was all in. We hadn't all gotten together for a J3A date in a long time, although, nowadays its more about H&G {#grayes}
We took advantage of the last day of nice weather for a little while. The rain is moving in this week which I would normally welcome, but its been so beautiful, I am sad to see the sunshine go! Every spring the Dallas Arboretum does Dallas Blooms. I love tulips so this is a fav on my list!
G was having a rough day.
But lucky for him, his Auntie Jojo sang him some songs
& his sweet cousin Hayes was wanting to give lots of sugars
