High Five for Friday (3.22.13)/Weekend Things

How the weeks fly by at this point... Geeez!
I started this post on Friday.. and now its Sunday and I am circling back to finish up!
It was a busy, busy week with lots of crazy but that's becoming the norm these days, which I guess isn't so bad. Being bored would be far worse.
Linking up with Lauren to high five for this Friday!
1. Although I didn't celebrate St Pattys in the traditional, green beer drinking, Reuben eating way, I still made sure that I was festive with my shamrock while working

2. While out running errands for the program, we may have stopped in the local HomeGoods & we found a pasta maker for $20 - Hello, 30 before 30 task getting one step closer! I cannot wait to make fresh pasta! I have a feeling, it ill be come an obsession!
3. Although it was an extra crazy week, I am super thankful that I had my work bestie, Annie, with me. We make anything fun... even if its past midnight, and we are helping the banquets team clean rooms.. #justtapeacheetahtoourbacks
4. The hubs sent me final pics of our room -

5. We got to the airport a lot of hours early for our 7:00 pm flight & we ran into this sign... oh how I love my athlete husband!
I got home late Friday night from Raleigh, but we were able to squeeze in some family cuddle time. Its always my favorite part of coming home
Saturday morning I was up early to start prepping for supper club, when my brother asked to meet for brunch - he was in town hanging out with his old friends, so J&I met him over at Whiskey Cake ((I cant sing the praises of this place enough!! DEEE LISSHHH))
Back home we went, I finished prepping, and may or may not have taken a nap... dont judge me! :)
The menu? Asian Fusion! It was so yum! My main meal was this Thai dish - but check over at Chocolate Broccoli this week and you will see everything I served!
I also got in some serious time with my favorite girls

They are growing up so fast.. and are such flirts! Daddy is going to be in some serious trouble! I wish I got to spend more time with them, & hopefully will as my schedule settles out!
Landon was such a ham on Saturday - he was cracking me up!
No pics of sweet Jacob, but he is just so handsome.. I cant keep my hands off all these little cuties.. they are my favorites!
Sunday = LAZY DAY. I caught up on all my DVR shows from the week, watched 2 of my most favorite movies ever (Remember the Titans & Blind Side). Can you say awesome day after the week I had?!
I also decided to try out a Beermosa which I found over at Being Bracco #yum
I also just received 2 new programs.. DC and Toronto.. thinking of having J join me after each for a few days... Anniversary trip & J's birthday trip?! I think so... Any suggestions in either city??
I'm "off" Monday... it gets the quotes since I have to conference calls I have to take, but I dont have to put on real clothes or make up if I am not feeling it, and I'll take that for a win... hope to meet up with my momma too, since its her day off.
I hope yall had a great week & weekend! Happy Monday yall!

High Five for Friday (3.15.2013)

Its been quite the week - a good one for sure... let's hop to it and get to the things worth High Fiving about with Lauren
1. My brother sent this to me on Monday... if you have ever met Layla Bean you would know this is her to a T. & she calms down 10 minutes later.... I die. I love this & Boogs little personality.
2. Speaking of Layla Bean.. we have been letting her stay out of her crate all week & she has been so good! J&I laugh when we get home because she is always in the same spot... makes you wonder what she does all day! Party it up until she hears the garage door open.. that gets my vote.

3. The Texas weather has been beautiful! My favorite part about spring is when the tulips bloom all over Addison - no picture because that would mean I was using a camera and driving which would be a big fat no no!
4. J&I took advantage of the spring-like weather and enjoyed a little patio action this week for HH. A definite favorite to the spring season for me!
5. I finally got my hair done this week! & at the same time got to spend time with my momma
Off to Raleigh in the morning - jealous of all you peeps that will be celebrating the Luck o' the Irish!

Weekend Nonsense

This weekend was much needed after last week & we took advantage of every moment!
Friday's plans changed, but we did some errands and spent time together (attempting to get my house back in order post Christmas... dont judge)
Saturday we had a lazy/relaxing day & then headed out to see my bestie, Heather's, new man play a gig at a local bar.
We had such a great time (a little too good of a time for me)
He thinks he is so funny... what he doesnt realize is that I will publicly humiliate him :)

Love this girl

Pardon my awkward pose... i was told to "get down"... this was the result... yeeesh
Sunday, although moving slowly, we had my parents and grandparents over for dins to celebrate my Mom's birthday.
So funny when people tell me we look alike - I'll take it - she's kinda cute, I guess :)
Have a fab week!

High Five for Friday (3.8.13)

Oh man... there has been a serious countdown for today. && you can bet your money that you can find me being lay-zeeeee in bed.
It was a rough week, but I think thats why it was important for me to write today's post - finding the good within the crazy week!
Linking up with Lauren as usual!
1. We knocked out one of my 30 before 30 items
2. I learned many, many new things about Audio/Visual this week... many! & I am thankful for the new knowledge and the experience
3. This picture this week. My sweet Jolie... I needed it.
4. My hubs cheered me up with a surprise from Tiff's Treats - me and the girls enjoyed!
5. I loved coming home and snuggling with this sweet babe last night - it was perfection
So happy for the weekend - I am going to relax, relax, relax! I hope you all enjoy your weekend too!!

Weekend Fun

I had another short weekend, but this tim einstead of just a Friday night, I also got all day Saturday to enjoy.. and I was sure to cram in as much as possible!

Friday night we had a date night with the Masseys to celebrate Jordan's birthday. We met at Hoshi Hibachi (holy yummness). I could eat hibachi every week, if J would let me!

We had planned to go to Main Event.. but there was a 2+ hour wait... and well, we are not a waiting kind of group, so we called a handful of places near us and ended up in a not so fancy schmancy bowling alley but it was just as fun!

On my 30 before 30, I have bowling over 150... I did not meet this goal; however I did break 100 in 2 out of the 3 games we played... this gives me hope that I will be able to break 150 at some point... looks like there will be many more bowling dates in 2013!

Saturday I had some work to do in the morning, but I put the laptop away and we scatched something off of my 30 Before 30 list that we have been talking about for weeks.

Justin and Jordan met us and we headed downtown to the Perot Museum.

After we expanded our knowledge, we headed to the Nodding Donkey for some adult bevies.
Overall a pretty good way to spend my day off! Happy Monday & have a fabulous week! I'll be counting down the hours til Thursday at 1:00 pm CST. :)

New Years Resolution Update

February Update:
1. Read at least 12 books this year.
- Bridesmaid Lotto
- Gamble on Engagement
- The Wedding Wager
2. Try at least 4 new recipes a month
- Green Vegetable Risotto
- Grilled Lobster (My daddy's recipe)
- I used a dry rub recipe and added Dr. Pepper to the crockpot.
- Baked Quinoa & Chicken Parmesan
3. Drink once during the week and on weekends only (besides holidays/if we are on vacation) I am definitely drinking far less than I used to
4. Walk Layla Bean 2-3 times a week. Super fail.
5. Grow in my job I would like to think so :) I have been planning a 1300 person meeting with minimal program manager support, so I have definitely grown!
6. Travel to Chicago with J - Technically this happened.. but not exactly the way I had in mind when I wrote this on my list. We are planning on a week long vacation in July.. cant wait to start planning!
7. Try Yoga/any other stress relieving activity Not so much this month.. stress levels have been pretty high. Hopefully after this big meeting I will be able to get my relax on!
8. Be a good auntie to all the little babes we have now. I sure do hope so.. I love those leetle babes.
9. Focus on good friends and strengthening those friendships always
10. Create a 30 before 30 list by mid January
11. Replace the kitchen counter & get curtains for the living room. I am broadening this up to re-decorating all together. Once I got our house to an ok point I just stopped worrying about it, but blogs and pinterest have my mind spinning with things I want to re-do!

Not too shabby... but still have a lot of things to work on!

High Five for Friday! (3.1.2013)

Yet another week flies by.... before I know it, it will be summer... EEK!
Linking up with Lauren & high fiving for the week!
My hubby surprised me with tickets to see Frank Caliendo at our local Improv. We used to go all of the time, so it was fun to go again. I love these types of nights: dinner, drinks and lots of laughs
The next morning.. well before the sun came up, I was on my way to Chicago for work. I had a lot of fun with the girls and laughed a lot. I am truly blessed to work with the people that I do, and I promise myself to never forget that.
Irish Luck from the random bull in the hotel.. ((please dont be jealous of my amazing polo... you know you want one))
Its not often that things strike me and speak to me. But this week one of my roommates from college posted the below & I really took it to heart. I am a super stressed/high anxiety person on the regular.. since reading this, I feel like I have dropped it down a few notches and it feels really, really good.
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you"
1 Peter 5:7
I got home Wednesday night & my sweet hubs put up my new mirrors - I cannot wait to share the whole room... but I still have a few things to get finished!
Thursday night, J is entertaining a client, and I am home posted up working in bed.. but I sure do have the cutest assistant ever!
I hope yall have a great weekend! For me its another "workin for the weekend" week.. without the weekend. BUT this week is better, I dont go on program until Sunday so I will get some time at home. Dont get me wrong, i love being on the go, but I also love being home with my leetle fam.. Such a catch 22!
