Before we knew the sex of this babe, I already knew that the nursery would mainly be grey and white with elephants. I'm obsessed yall. Cant help it. If it was a boy I would add navy and if a girl, I would add coral. The minute that we found out we were having a boy, my pinterest board exploded with nursery ideas. I knew I didnt want "baby" type elephants, so I was really picky and choosey on what we used.
I am such a planner, the main nursery was pretty much complete by early March. I was just filling in the details after that.
During our newborn lifestyle shoot with
Stephanie Rose Photography, I asked her to snap some official pics of G's nursery.

This is definitely not a Stephanie Rose photo below... but I wanted to show off the closet. J worked so hard to make it so organized for me and exactly what I wanted!
I am so in love with how it turned out, and hopefully G will be able to grow into the theme as he gets older.... I mean, we could easily change it into a Dallas Cowboys theme... just sayin!
Hi, love the nursery! would you mind sharing the wall color?
ReplyDeleteThank you! The wall color is sherwin Williams 50/50 blend of Argos and Gray Matters
DeleteLove your nursery! Where did you get your light with his initial?
ReplyDeletethank you! I ordered it on Etsy - MarqueeMomma - I did experience problems with her... took twice as long to receive, when it was received it was rusted rather than white. She took forever to get back to me when I let her know it was incorrect so my husband fixed it. She did offer to send a new one, but we just kept the original as Grayson was arriving soon... but the quality is good!
DeleteI have been trying to find MarqueeMomma on Etsy and cannot. Do you have a link for her site? Thanks in advance!
Deleteit looks like she no longer has her shop :( I had also looked at the shops called Rustalgic and MetalAndLights on etsy
DeleteThe Lighted letter G, do the lightbulbs stick out from the white or are they inserted inside the letter and are flush with the letter itself.
Deletehi! the lights do not stick out further than the outlined portion of the g. the are on the base which is a few inches lower than the outter rim.. I hope that makes sense!
Deletewhat are the dimensions of the wall sign with letter on wall?do you know how they attached the letter,is it ran by battery?is the blue a painted navy?
ReplyDeleteHi there - my husband created the wall frame. It is 6 feet at its widest and 4 feet tall. The blue is fabric that we mounted on peg board with foam in between. The letter is a plug in. A hole was made through the fabric/foam/pegboard to run the cord down the back and we used a plastic piece they sell at home depot to hide cords on the wall painted the same color as the wall to hide it (we also run our monitor cord this way) The board and letter are all screwed/nailed into the wall securely enough that if pulled it will not move. My husband was sure to put them into the studs as well - so G's safety was a priority.. the wall may need some help whenever its time to move :)
Deletethank you
DeleteAbsolutely love this nursery and plan on using some it as my inspiration nursery! I really love the frame above the baby's crib. I've already purchased the led letter, my biggest concern or question is building the frame! Any advice or suggestions??
ReplyDeleteit truly was easy! I took painters tape once we had the crib and measured out how big I wanted it, from there my husband got molding from Home depot and only had to make the cuts based on the dimensions. He used wood glue and brackets on the back to secure the corners. the fabric is over some padding and attached to plywood. The trickiest part I think was securing the whole thing to the wall and feeling comfortable with it over the crib. the next homeowner will probably hate us for the nine million holes in the wall, but at least we know its not falling on the babe anytime soon!
DeleteWhere did you get the rug? Also what size/brand is it? I am in love! Beautiful nursery.
ReplyDeleteHi! Forever later - I am so sorry. We found the rug at HomeGoods - its 5x7 .. I am not sure of the brand
DeleteStill searching for this rug.. Hope to hear back from you. (: thank you
ReplyDeleteone million years later - I am so sorry! Just did a quick search after looking at the tag under the rug :)

Where did you get the curtains? Thank you for responding! This nursery is amazing! (:
ReplyDeleteI just looked at them and there are no tags and I cannot find anything in my emails for the purchase. I feel like it was some random cheap curtain site - they are blackout navy curtains with a satin finish... sorry I cant help more than that!
DeleteI love those crib sheets! Would love if you could share where they're from please! Great job on this nursery. And cute blog!!
ReplyDeleteHi Hillary! These sheets are just from Target! :)
DeleteHi just wondering what size letter that is
ReplyDeleteHi! Its 22"
DeleteThank you so much for responding! I ordered the sheets so I hope they come soon. Do you feel like they held up pretty good? I have one more question though :) do you know what size that heartbeat canvas you have? I was going to order but I like that yours looks more square versus the 8x10 or 11x14 listed on etsy. If you could let me know id so appreciate it. Thank you!! I am totally swooning over this room!
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet! Yes, the sheets have been great. I do swap them out with a striped one from burtsbees that I also love. The canvas I got was 12x12. I asked for it custom but I believe on their etsy page they have a picture from my nursery with the square options.
DeleteHi! Curious where you got the bumper in the crib. It looks like it's a soft jersey material! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Hillary! The bumpers are from Pottery Barn. To be honest, they were in his crib more as décor and then I removed them once he started sleeping in there. Kind of a larger expense if you don't plan on keeping them in there - but I still love the way they look! ha!
DeleteLove this nursery! Is the marquee metal or wood?I would love to put one above our sons crib but I am not sure how we'd attach it if it were just a keyhole for a nail. I'd be so worried he'd pull it off. Any tips would be awesome! :) love the ribbon banner too. You are so creative!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's by far my favorite room in the house! It is a metal marquee. I will say that the wall behind the letter probably won't look very pretty when we take it all down. We tug on it every few days to be sure it's still good. We are in the process of moving and have talked about putting it a bit higher in his new room to make space for a headboard eventually. I have no technical advice on how to put it up but I do know we were paranoid about the same things you're asking.
DeleteI'm so amazed at your design abilities! And your blog is too cute! I have 2 random questions. Where did you find that round silver tray under the elephant light? I love it! And also the navy blanket in the crib. Can you share details where it's from as well, please? Thank you so much! Can you please come decorate my kids rooms :D
ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet! both the tray and blanket are from HomeGoods.. Good for me and my wallet but not so easy for you to be able to find it again. 😕 I'm sorry I know that isn't very helpful!
DeleteSo we are going to attempt to make something similar to the wall frame. Eeek wish us luck. Can you tell me a little more about the construction of it. I bought some trim but I'm confused how to attach it to the wall and the fabric piece. Did u put the fabric covered plywood up and screw that in and then Add the trim frame over that? My husband wants me to have a plan before he starts doing the work hahah thank you so much for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I am really wishing we had done a tutorial/step by step, but unfortunately we didn't and honestly were just winging it. I saw a picture in HGTV magazine and wanted something like it. Here's what I know - my husband constructed the frame part first - cut the angles on the trim, connected them with L-brackets. He then cut the plywood to the appropriate shape/size. We put a thin layer of foam on the plywood to "fill" out the fabric - he just staple gunned all that to the plywood. He also used the staple gun to attach the plywood to the frame. after he affixed it to the wall, he drilled hooks through the frame and wall to place the G. I hope this is helpful... truly, J winged it. We are in the middle of moving so when we put it up in the new house I will probably have better directions of how to secure it!
DeleteEveryone already asked every question I have but I just wanted to share how inspired I was when I saw this nursery. I'm only 4 months pregnant but the day I saw this I went and bought almost everything for my son's nursery. Some of the details that you provided were beyond helpful and I am just so blessed to have found an inspiration early on. Thank you for sharing your photos and ideas and happy holidays to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteThis is the sweetest message! I am so glad it inspired you! I am actually pregnant with baby #2 and am scouring the internet for ideas lol Happy Holidays to you and good luck with your sweet babe!
DeleteDid you paint the dresser yourself? Do you happen to know the paint color?
ReplyDeleteHi! We had someone paint it for us but it was wherein Williams Cityscape
DeleteSherwin Williams lol - sorry!
DeleteBeautiful nursery! You have great taste! Just wanted to know more about the heart beat canvas please!

DeleteShe is quick and amazing! She just printed my second one for my next nursery
Hello Ashley, Sorry to bother you but I am in LOVE with everything about Grayson room, the Frame would your husband would not mind and tell me what material I need to make the frame
ReplyDeleteHi! First of all, I LOVE your son's nursery! I want to go with the elephant theme now, and I love all of the elephants you have in your pictures. I know you got some of them from Pottery Barn Kids, but where did you get the dusty blue elephant that's in the middle of the group of elephants? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteA few of them are also Jellycat including the blue one you are asking about 😁
DeleteHey Ashley! Where did you get the changing table cover from? Love this room!
ReplyDeleteHi Katelyn! Thank you! I’m 99% sure it was from buy buy baby
DeleteI was wondering where you got the white cabinet with the doors that is in the closet from? By the way you are amazing, and I love that you planned so far in advance. I too am a planner myself, and this post/blog has given me so much inspiration. We are naming our son Grayson, and I typed Grayson nursery themes having no clue it would find something like this!!! Blown away. I just love it ALL.
