High Five for Friday

Hello Friday! So glad you're here! It was my first week back to work, after my 10 days off.. womp womp womp.... but now that its the weekend, I am happy!

I am linking up again with Lauren at From My Grey Desk

0. I get an extra "finger" this week, since this one is technically something that happened last week (Friday) but I really wanted to share because it was fabulous! As you read earlier this week, my cousin got married June 1st. a bunch of our family wanted to get our makeup done and we were considering going to a near by MAC when it hit me.. my FABULOUS makeup artist, Hima Pandya, from my wedding now lives in the LA area... She did a super amazing job on all TEN girls! & she is so fun, so if you are in the LA area and need a makeup done for a wedding or occasion, contact her through here.

1. Blake & Erin's Wedding invitations came in this week! Its getting close - I cant wait to celebrate with them in Vegas!

2. Now that my travel schedule has slowed down significantly I had the chance to meal plan for this week (yes, I know, this is a chore for most, but I really love to try new things and relax in the kitchen.. what was for dins you ask??

Sunday: Grilled Flank Steak, Horseradish Sauce, Lemon Dill Roasted Potatoes & Garlic Parmesan Green Beans
Monday: Fish Tacos (Made with Tilapia) & Pineapple Salsa
Tuesday: (J plays softball on Tuesdays during the summer, so easy meals for Tuesdays!) Homemade Marinara (I freeze some when I make it) & Chicken and Cheese Ravioli (We always have some of this around the house as well.
Wednesday: Lemon Paella with Peas and Shrimp from my favorite foodie website Chocolate Broccoli!

Thursday & Friday we didnt/arent eating at home... but at least I was able to plan for 4 days :)

3. SKU Ducks Softball Season has begun!

Softball season starting means a few things in our house
  • J is keeping with his long standing tradition with his hometown buddies. They have all been playing on the same team for years
  • I get my own cute , comfy t-shirt
  • I get a night every week to myself. I travel for a living, so J gets a lot of alone time. When I am home, he's always here. Now, dont get me wrong, I love my husband. He is my best friend, I love spending time with him, and I wouldnt want to live my life with anyone else. But having one night to do whatever I want without having to answer any questions, or feel bad about it is amazing. I can watch crap TV, write my blog, read, go out for drinks with friends, have dinner... I mean, just whatever I want... my choices this Tuesday? Editing this blog, Dance Moms, a glass of Cab, Masterchef, Pinteresting... **pure bliss**
  • Before you get judgey on me, J&I have agreed that I will go to one game this season. I may go to more, but I love having an understanding husband. He is the best, the best!
  • I wont be melting in the Texas Summer Heat!
4. Meet Trey

Yes, this means that Zwei is no longer with us. Every time I allow J to change the water my poor babies dont make it. Before you get all Animal Rights/PETA on me. I will promise 2 things. 1) J will not clean out the tank 2) If something does happen to poor Trey, I promise that I wont have a beta number four.

5. Tonight we are headed out with the Masseys (YAY!) for a concert in the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. Now any event like this is fun, and being with our besties is always fun too; however, we all know my obsession with Marc Broussard ((if you dont, feel free to catch up here)) I cannot wait to see my sexay boyfriend tonight!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend yall!

  2. OHHHH poor fishy- you MUST allow the new water to stay standing at room temp for at least 24 hours before adding the fishy. It is amazing the shock they may have if you use too cold or too hot water. I learned this the hard way, too :) BUT my LOU has been big and strong for over a year now :) AND don't forget the water conditioner drops, too. Things you already know- I'm sure.
